can you buy pot seeds in colorado

The best option to cultivate pot seeds in Colorado is indoors. You’ll abide by state laws and be able to protect your weed plants from nosey neighbors. If there are minors in your house, you must grow your cannabis crops in a room that’s locked and secure.

Remember that some areas can pass stricter laws on weed cultivation in the future, so ensure that you frequently check your jurisdiction for possible upcoming updates.

Have you ever searched for the term – is weed legal in Colorado? The answer will delight you, and the history of marijuana legalization in the state is fascinating.

Best strains to grow in Colorado

Colorado and Washington became the first two states in the U.S to legalize recreational weed in 2012. The Green wave rapidly started spreading which has lead to cannabis legalization for personal use in several other states.

You could germinate your cannabis seeds in March and move them outside at the end of April, therefore avoiding the last cold frosts. Prepare your soil by adding high-grade fertilizer to the bed before replanting them.

It’s illegal to drive under the influence of marijuana, and you can transfer up to one ounce of cannabis in your car if it’s sealed and locked in your trunk. Don’t attempt to export weed from Colorado into another state as that’s a federal offense, and patrols highly guard the state borders. You can still buy marijuana seeds from Colorado if you live in another state.

Colorado boasts a cool, dry climate, with low humidity levels in the summer and cold winters. The weather can be a bit wacky and unpredictable at times, which would make it difficult to determine the best time to move your weed plants outdoors.

Dear Stoner: What are the laws regarding buying marijuana seeds in Colorado? Are they any different if I’m not a resident?
Mike

Dispensaries that sell them have told us that they can sell no more than a pack of six seeds or clones per day to a customer, and that they count toward your 1-ounce limit. That is, if you can find a store that still sells seeds at all. They’re not extinct, but they are dwindling.

Dear Mike: There are no longer any special possession and purchasing restrictions for out-of-staters, outside of having to ditch your stash at the border. Like Colorado residents, visitors who are at least 21 are able to purchase and possess up to 1 ounce of cannabis flower per day in the state. Although you’re allowed to possess an ounce of concentrates or THC inside of infused products, dispensaries can only sell 8 grams of concentrates to you per day, or edibles containing no more than 800 milligrams of THC.

Sativas will grow quickly. They’ll get quite tall in the course of the season. With this type of plant, you’re looking at an energetic, “up” high.

The genetics of a seed are the most important aspect of quality. Seeds should come from plants with desirable traits, and predictable behavior. Buy seeds from breeders who care about their product, and will take the time to breed plants properly to get the best quality seeds possible.

In most cases, it’s a matter of personal preference. Most people should choose between indicas or sativas (or grow both!) to start.

Choosing Your Cannabis Seeds

Like buying any other product from dispensaries, buying seeds comes with its own set of rules. As with buying weed itself, you need to be 21 years of age or older to buy seeds at a Colorado recreational dispensary. You’ll need valid government-issued ID. You’re also not allowed to give or sell seeds to minors.

In Colorado, you have to pay for seeds at 420 dispensaries and pick up your products in person. Seeds can’t be mailed, so shop local at the Spot 420 Pueblo dispensary and Trinidad dispensary!

While anyone from around the world can come to Colorado to buy cannabis seeds from a 420 dispensary, there are a lot of rules governing who can grow weed and where. Read on!

Possession of cannabis, including seeds, is mostly illegal in the United States. It is still illegal federally. If you live in Colorado, you’re fine to grow weed under the cultivation limits. If you’re from somewhere where it’s still illegal to possess and/or grow cannabis, you shouldn’t buy seeds and take them out of Colorado – if it’s still against the law where you are, you could face harsh penalties.
