Both substances are a blend of water and fine silver particles, and they work in largely the same fashion. The silver solution impedes the production of ethylene, a hormone involved in flowering. The result is a female plant, but one that produces male flowers with pollen sacs. Since those pollen sacs develop on a plant with only female genetics, female genetics are all they carry. When those flowers pollinate another female plant (one untreated by silver solutions), the resulting seeds are nearly certain to be female.
There are a few techniques that can produce reliably feminized seeds. One classic method is stressing out a healthy female plant by interrupting its light cycle during flowering. While that works to an extent, the more common and controlled method is to spray down female plants with a collodial silver or silver thiosulphate solution. This method makes it possible to control the sex of a plant without any genetic tinkering or modification.

How Are Cannabis Seeds Feminized?
Anyone who’s ever savored a joint owes their enjoyment to the fruits of the cannabis plant, but moreover, to the female of the species. That’s because only female cannabis plants produce the cannabinoid-rich flowers that deliver the flavors and effects consumers look for.

Cannabis plants that are pollinated naturally or with traditional breeding techniques can produce both male or female seeds. These are known as regular seeds and, as in most species, they occur with about an even split between the two sexes. That means cannabis cultivators starting with standard seeds have about a 50% chance of yielding a female plant from each one.
There are numerous advantages for growers who start their garden using feminized seeds. By removing the guesswork of germinating regular seeds, feminized seeds streamline the growing process, saving space and time.
In recent years the evolution of weed seed production has allowed MSNL breeders to develop some of the finest feminized seed genetics available. By isolating and removing the male hormone our female cannabis seeds produce 99.9% female plants, allowing growers to increase the speed of production and range of strains they can produce at a given time. Although not always the case, it is generally the male plant that growers try to avoid as it the males which can cross pollinate, fertilizing the female plants in your setup. This leads to a lower quality final product that often leaves buds riddled with seeds.
Feminized marijuana (Cannabis, Weed) seeds are specifically bred to produce 99% female plants. It is these female plants that produce flowers which over the course of the flowering stage develop into the glistening, fragrant buds that are dried, smoked and used to medicate. They are the pot of green gold at the end of the growing cycle rainbow.

High quality feminized Indica strains, known for their powerful sedative stone.
These highly sought after female marijuana (Cannabis, weed) seeds give growers full control over their operations helping eradicate any potential variations in phenotype and ensure only the finest buds are produced. Our range of feminized marijuana (Cannabis, weed) seeds is extensive and developed by our breeders to offer a variety of seeds for all tastes. They consist of Indica, Sativa and hybrid photoperiod and autoflowering genetics which contain Cannabis Cup Winners, Blue, Purple and Cheese strains amongst an array of other weed seed varieties.
Because male plants can fertilise many females, the popularity of feminized seeds continues to significantly aid the future preservation of cannabis strains for generations to come.
Wild cannabis plants are typically hermaphrodites, meaning they carry the physical traits of both sexes. This is done as an emergency response to the lack of either sex in a certain crop and also allows for self-pollination. This dioecious trait has been bred-out of most contemporary, commercialized plants, in order to manipulate the cultivation process and save time by removing the need to sex plants. Good quality feminized strains on the commercial market are all but resistant to becoming hermaphrodites, particularly if grown in proper conditions.
The creation and evolution of Feminized cannabis seeds have been one of the defining moments in the expansion of the cannabis market over the last few decades.
Before feminized seeds were introduced to the market, regular seeds were the norm. These were typically made up of 50% male and 50% female seeds. This was often a source of frustration for growers who were forced to double the number of seedlings in order to ensure a satisfactory number of female plants for future cultivation.
The creation of feminized cannabis seeds meant that the inconvenience of male plants, particularly their size, was no longer a concern.
Today. Feminized seeds are bred in a way that enables them to develop and flower as female plants only. Their breeding process eliminates virtually all male chromosomes; the probability of female plants growing is 99.9%.
